Henry W. Spaulding II, PhD, will be inaugurated as the 7th president of Mount Vernon Nazarene University on November 8, 2013. Spaulding, a 1974 graduate of Trevecca, was serving as MVNU provost and chief academic officer when he was elected president in November of 2012.
Spaulding’s academic credentials include a master’s of divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary (1977) and a doctor of philosophy from The Florida State University (1982).
Spaulding has served as a pastor, professor of religion at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Trevecca, and director of the Master of Divinity Program at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City.
Spaulding's wife, Sharon, is a graduate of Trevecca (1975) and a teacher. They have three adult children.
