The Trevecca Heritage Men’s Chorale, which began its fall “season” in early September, will present four concerts this fall:
October 17, Thursday, at Goodlettsville Church of the Nazarene, at 7 PM
October 27, Sunday evening, at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, at 6 PM
November 9, Saturday, during Trevecca Homecoming Weekend, at 12:30 PM
November 17, Sunday, at Grace Church of the Nazarene, at 6 PM
The Heritage Men’s Chorale (HMC) was organized in 2007 by Trevecca alumni who had enjoyed singing in all-male groups during their time at Trevecca. In that first year 24 men participated. This year HMC has sixty men on its roster, and the members of the group come from many denominations, many parts of Middle Tennessee, many careers, and all age groups. The group rehearses during a fall and a spring “season,” each of ten or eleven weeks, and rehearses on Sunday afternoons on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University. HMC’s director is Joe Moses, a retired educator and former choir director. The which performs for churches, civic organizations, and community events.
What started out simply as a way to enjoy music has become a source of spiritual strength and deeper meaning for the men in HMC. They have discovered meaningful friendships within a fellowship which nurtures their spiritual lives.
