Trevecca’s National Praise and Worship Institute (NPWI) received recognition this week in the October 2013 issue of Worship Leader Magazine. This issue was Worship Leader’s annual “Best of the Best” issue, which presented 33 lists, ranging from books, planning resources, to top 15 worship releases.
Trevecca’s National Praise and Worship Institute was included in the “Best of Higher Education Worship Degrees.” Trevecca was one of five institutions listed (p. 24); the list included a brief overview of each institution.
NPWI’s receiving this recognition in its first year of classes created excitement among its faculty. “We, who work in NPWI, are honored and humbled to have been selected by Worship Leader Magazine as one of the top five institutions of higher education helping develop future worship leaders. The vision of Randall Bayne, director of the National Praise and Worship Institute, was for the program to teach students holistically in the areas of music performance, theology, songwriting, and worship ministry leadership. Sixteen students are currently enrolled in the program's first year. We look forward to see how God will use these students and future students in the Church,” explained Sam Green, director of the Praise and Worship Program.
