Trevecca announces new programs to address current issues

As part of its mission to provide programs that meet the changing needs of learners, Trevecca Nazarene University announces new programs designed for professional educators and therapists and new minors for its degree-completion programs.

New Certificate Program in Healthy Sexuality
Trevecca’s Department of Graduate Counseling announces a new online certificate program for therapists and counselors—the Healthy Sexuality Program. This 18-credit-hour program is designed to train post-graduate individuals to develop the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively with individuals and couples who experience sexual issues, using a faith-based perspective. Courses are human sexual behavior, the theology of sex, single sexuality, marital sexual intimacy, sexual trauma, compulsive sexual behavior and other sexual disorders. Interested persons should contact
Teresa Geuy (tgeuy@trevecca.edu or 615-248-1351) for more information.

Turnaround School Leadership Program (EdS)
For educators who want to close achievement gaps and improve student performance in their schools, the Trevecca School of Education offers a brand-new program and one of a very few in the nation. The Trevecca School of Education is now taking applications for the Turnaround School Leadership Program (EdS). Designed to equip professional educators to address the problem of underperforming schools, this 30-semester-hour program can be completed in four semesters, and all hours of this non-licensure program can transfer directly into Trevecca’s Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice Program (EdD) for those educators who want to earn a doctorate. The start date for this new program is fall of 2014. For more information, contact Lewis Bridges at lbridges@trevecca.edu or 615-248-1587.

New Minors Offered
Additionally, Trevecca’s College of Lifelong Learning now offers new minors for its students in its degree-completion programs. Students can choose to minor in healthcare administration, general business,  management, general business, and Christian ministries, leadership studies, and behavioral science. Each minor will consist of 15 credit hours and can be earned outside of a bachelor’s degree. For more information about these new minors or for information about any of Trevecca’s degree-completion programs for adult learners, contact Lucas Phillips at lphillips@trevecca.edu or 615-248-1494.
