University hosts donors at new event

On Friday afternoon, March 22, the Office of External Relations hosted members of the Trevecca Society and the Trevecca Board of Trustees for a new kind of donor-appreciation event, which included a baseball double-header, popcorn, peanuts, and a shrimp boil. During this event, held on Trevecca’s Jackson Field, attendees also could tour Trevecca’s new indoor batting facility.

This event is part of Trevecca’s effort to provide new opportunities for Trevecca Society members to engage with Trevecca and each other. Last fall Trevecca Society members had breakfast with Trevecca’s president and first lady, Dan and Denise Boone, during Homecoming Weekend.

“The goal of these events is greater engagement of Society members and potential members in the life of Trevecca. Moreover, a casual event, such as this baseball game and shrimp boil, provides many opportunities for fellowship not always possible in large, more formal events,” explained Peg Cooning, vice president for external relations.

Attendees reported how much they enjoyed the event and noted that time for fellowship with each other was one of the best parts.
