TNT concluded an inspiring four days on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University. This annual competition included appearances by nationally known speakers at the opening and closing ceremonies and worship led by Trevecca band Refuge. On opening night, Thursday evening, national best-selling author of Quitter and blogger to more than 4 million followers Jon Acuff challenged the crowd of nearly 3,000. John Luke and Sadie Robertson, of A&E Television’s Duck Dynasty brought the crowd to its feet on Saturday evening and in then shared from their hearts at the Sunday morning service.

“TNT was a wonderful event,” said Jason Underwood, the regional director of events, for the Southeast (region) Nazarene Youth International (NYI).  “We were especially happy to have all events on Trevecca’s campus. Two highlights of these days were opening speaker Jon Acuff and the special appearance of John Luke and Sadie Robertson.”

Acuff started TNT on the right note with a funny and powerful message in which he asked, “Why don’t we have lives of adventure with God, and why do we view Him as a safe and vanilla god?” Acuff helped students understand how to “plug into a really exciting God.”

Both of the Robertson siblings came on stage on Saturday night and then shared more in depth on Sunday. They encouraged members of the audience to “find and use your own platform for Christ.” John Luke explained that the Robertson family’s platform is a television show, but he asked listeners to find their own platform and use it to serve God. “Your platform might be a cafeteria table. Use whatever platform you have to share the gospel.”

The competitions lasted all day Friday and Saturday and included more than 75 different group and individual competitions. The overall winners were the Tennessee District Church of the Nazarene, the white division, and the South Carolina District Church of the Nazarene, purple division. All twelve districts from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee competed.
