Trevecca Business Students are Among the Best
Forty of Trevecca’s senior business students recently completed their Major Field Achievement test. This test is given annually to thousands of soon to be business graduates from around the world. Overall, Trevecca business students were at the 85th percentile. Based on this assessment instrument, Trevecca’s 2009 business graduates are in the top 15 percent.
This widely recognized assessment measures student knowledge in nine distinct topics. These include accounting, economics, management, quantitative business analysis, finance, marketing, law, information systems and international business. The department is especially pleased with the 90th percentile results for economics and finance as well as the 95th percentile for international business.
The Business Department would like to congratulate five of their students for finishing in the 95th percentile, which is the highest possible score. Travis Creel is an accounting major from Richmond, Virginia, who plans to attend law school in the near future. Michael Duke is also an accounting major. He is from Edmond, Oklahoma, and would like to work in the music industry. Another accounting major, Derek Henrichs, is from Colona, Illinois, and plans on working in health care. Derek is also considering attending medical school. Jared Usrey, an entrepreneurially minded marketing major from Jasper, Alabama, plans to continue working on his business start-ups and may attend graduate school in the near future.
The Business Department extends special congratulations to Nate Hill, who was also in the 95th percentile. He was the highest achiever based on raw score. Nate, an accounting major from Tega Cay, South Carolina, has accepted a coveted position with Ernst and Young. Nate was extremely motivated during his time at Trevecca and completed 150 hours during his four years. This achievement qualifies Nate to sit for the Certified Public Accounting examination in Tennessee.
