Admission Requirements

Individuals who have a bachelor degree and are seeking certification to teach may choose to take undergraduate level courses to meet the licensure requirements of the Tennessee Department of Education. The following steps are required for admission to the Post-Baccalaureate Program:
- The applicant must submit an application with $25.00 fee
- A GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required for admission.
- Two references
- A successful interview and writing sample
- Two sets of official transcript(s) of all undergraduate work must be submitted. Official transcripts must be mailed from the university granting the undergraduate degree directly to

Transcripts marked "Issued to Student" are not acceptable to comprise a student's official file.
- The applicant must meet with the director of Post-Baccalaureate Admissions for transcript evaluation and discussion about available options.
- Registration and payment of tuition and any applicable fees.
Individuals who are already licensed as teachers may choose the Post-Baccalaureate Program for renewal of license or for an additional area of endorsement. Steps #1 and #2 above are required prior to admission.
