Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Freshmen should apply for admission to the University through the Office of Admissions.  University admissions requirements are found on the Trevecca website (www.trevecca.edu).

In the freshman or sophomore year, candidates apply to be formally admitted to the Teacher Education program. Admission requirements are as follows:

  • Maintain a GPA of not less than 2.5
  • Demonstrate English competence by a minimum grade of C in ENG 1020 and ENG 1080
  • Demonstrate speech competence by a minimum grade of C in COM 1010
  • Pass the Writing on Demand activity with the assessment system writing rubric
  • Complete EDU 1500 with a minimum grade of C
  • Pass the Pre-Professional Skills Test or present acceptable scores on the ACT/SAT (22/1020)
  • Present three acceptable recommendations using the assessment system rubric
  • Demonstrate satisfactory completion of EDU 1010 in an ethnically/racially diverse setting
  • Successfully pass an interview with the assessment system interview rubric
  • Exhibit responsible personal and professional dispositions
