Meet the Resident Directors

Lindsey Sparrow - Georgia Hall

This is my second year at Trevecca and I love witnessing the amazing work of God's grace in the lives of our students! I believe that our universities are melting pots where God's presence is experienced, lives are changed, and people are commissioned to be his disciples in the world.  My four years of college were not only times of building memories and creating lasting friendships, but they were the years where I began to find out who I was and what God was creating me to be for Him.  I want to help create those moments and opportunities for my residents; opportunities for my girls to create lasting friendships with each other, find their passions and gifts, and to meet God right in their very room.

My years at Point Loma Nazarene University were filled with moments just like that.  I graduated in 2003 with a degree in Journalism that took me on an amazing ride of ministry opportunities leading me to Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City where I have been pursuing my masters of divinity degree since 2004.  God has called me to pastoral ministry, and I can't think of a better place to pastor than right here in Georgia Hall.

I met my husband while working at General Assembly in June of 2004 and 11 months later we were married.  We just celebrated three years this past May and I can't think of a better way to be in ministry than with my husband. He has been a pastor for the last eight years and as a TNU alum, he is excited about his own ministry here at Trevecca.

Decades ago, Trevecca was called by God to prepare women and men to do His work in the world as doctors, teachers, musicians, and pastors.  When you walk on Trevecca's campus, you are not just walking around dorm rooms and lecture halls; you are walking on holy ground.  So come on in and walk with us for awhile!

Kayleigh Hofer - Tennessee Hall

This is my first year at Trevecca, and I am so excited to have moved back to the great state of Tennessee! I was born in Tennessee, and then moved to Ohio at the age of five where I spent most of my childhood. I enjoyed my college years at Indiana Wesleyan University where I received my B.S. in Leadership and B.S. in Christian Education. This past summer I married the love of my life and best friend, Tyler Hofer. We are both excited to now call Tennessee Hall our home! Beyond getting to spend valuable time with Tyler, some of my other passions are: my family, the local church, global missions, adventure learning/sports, hiking, backpacking, playing board games, sand volleyball, swimming, running, enjoying yummy treats, and simply hanging out.

My hope for all students at Trevecca is that they can each walk away after four years having discovered more of who God is, and who He has made them to be. It is through this journey that we begin to uncover God's calling and purpose for our lives. I believe in the value of a Christian college experience, and how formative it can be in setting the trajectory of an individual's adult life. I feel so blessed to be able to work in this field, and have the opportunity to be used as God's instrument in the lives of these students- specifically in the lives of the women of Tennessee Hall! I desire for Tennessee Hall to be a safe, encouraging environment where the residents can foster supportive relationships. It is in these
relationships that God teaches us to embrace community, accountability, trust, spiritual growth, and the greatest act of all- loving one another.  I am thrilled to see what God has in store for 2009-2010!

Jessica Dykes - Johnson Hall

This is my first year serving as the resident director of Johnson Hall.  I am originally from the wonderful city of Dothan, Alabama. I graduated from Trevecca in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Interpersonal Communications.  My experience at Trevecca deeply impacted my life. I made some of my closest friends and favorite memories on the hill and in the rooms of Johnson Hall. I am so thankful for the opportunity to return to campus as a resident director. I pray that each girl will discover love, support and a sense of belonging within our community. My hope is that the girls will leave this year with a deeper understanding of who they are in Christ and how to positively impact the world around them.  I look forward to building relationships throughout the campus and playing a part in God’s plan for our students. I know that the Lord has great plans for us this year!

Heather Bryant - Bush & Shingler Apartments

Seth Thompson - Benson Hall

I am originally from Rossville, GA. My mom and dad still live there and it is a joy to go home to the mountains. I have two older brothers who are both youth pastors and two nephews with another on the way. I am so thankful for the family I have been blessed with.

This will be my first year as Resident Director in Benson Hall. Although this is my first year as a Resident Director, it will be my seventh year to live in Benson Hall. I graduated from Trevecca in May 2007 with a degree in Religion, and have been serving as the Assistant Resident Director in Benson Hall for the last two years. It has been a great time of growth and development and Benson truly has become a home to me.

I cannot wait to see what God is going to do in the dorm this year. I pray and hope it will be a time of growth and development for all within their faith and friendships.
