Internships are required of many majors at Trevecca. A career placement
coordinator is available to help students obtain credit for an
internship. By contacting the
Career and Counseling Center, the student can arrange a time to learn about internships offered through Trevecca.
Although the internship coordinator is available to guide students in
locating possible internship opportunities, the responsibility of
obtaining the internship and completing all course requirements belongs
to the student.
To qualify for an internship, the following guidelines must be met:
The student must be a junior or senior in good standing with the college.
The student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above.
Internships must be directly related to the student’s major or
occupational goal, and approved by a faculty sponsor in the student’s
department prior to registration.
The student’s employer must be willing to enter into the “Learning Contract” with Trevecca Nazarene University.
The Learning Contract must be signed by the student, the faculty
sponsor, the internship coordinator, and the employer. Grading is
determined according to the department’s requirement, the exit
interview with the career placement counselor, and the site evaluation.
Some internships are paid; some are not. Don’t let “salary” dictate
your internship. Seek a company that will give you good experience and
introduce you to successful people in your field.
