From crippling fear .  .  .  to  a challenging life

"I was raised in a household with no emphasis on the need for an education beyond high school. Furthermore, the likelihood of my being shunned by family members for pursuing a higher education was great. The fear of losing my family, coupled with my lack of self-confidence, became academically crippling.

"It was with great persistence from a close friend that I explored Trevecca’s MHR Program. It was a decision that would forever change my life, providing riches well beyond any monetary value.

"Trevecca’s faculty and staff embraced me from my very first day on campus, providing unwavering support and encouragement that continue today, nine years after graduation.

"I graduated from Trevecca with a bachelor’s degree and embarked upon a challenging career I would have never known without my degree. But more importantly, Trevecca instilled in me the belief that pursuit of an education never ends and it is possible for those who yearn it with great passion."

Dantha has worked for Vanderbilt University for 24 years and is currently a budget analyst for the VUMC Department of Urologic Surgery. She and her husband, Matt, reside in Nolensville, Tennessee, with their two daughters—Savannah (8) and Scarlett (4)—who hear on a daily basis the importance of a college education. Dantha plans to start the Trevecca MBA Program the day her oldest daughter starts her freshman year at Trevecca--if not sooner, Dantha says.
