Assistant Professor of English
From teaching . . . to being taught
I have had the privilege of teaching at Trevecca for the past four years; during this time, I have been inspired by the lives and stories of many of my students. I refer specially to those who come to Trevecca in the midst of many difficulties. In spite of the various challenges these students face, they attend classes, write papers, take exams and do all that needs to be done to succeed.
When students tell their “leap” stories, they often mention professors as a source of inspiration; what they might not be aware of is that they “teach” and inspire teachers like me to make the leap to become better instructors and individuals by their lives and their testimonies. The manner in which these students pursue their dreams in the midst of family problems, health problems, financial problems, and many other issues, with the confidence that God has called them to be in this place at this time is certainly admirable and inspiring.
