Danielle Queener

Class of 2008

From follower to leader . . .

“Throughout my school years and at church, I was always very involved—but not as a leader. It was through my time and experience at Trevecca that really allowed me to grow and develop into a leader. Before Trevecca I was not very confident about my leadership abilities.

“The nurturing environment at Trevecca made it easy for me to take on responsibilities that gave me confidence that I could serve in leadership roles. The smaller student population at Trevecca allowed me more opportunities to be involved in student government and other leadership positions. I know that I would not have had these same opportunities at a larger school.

“Moreover, my classroom experiences helped me gain other leadership skills. My professors encouraged me and gave me more opportunities to develop as a leader. The small class size allowed my professors to know me personally and recognize leadership qualities within me. They challenged me in ways that I might not have been at another school. My experiences at Trevecca have prepared me well for a career as a servant-leader in counseling.

Danielle was involved in the Trevecca Student Government Association during her four years at Trevecca; in her senior year she served as Associated Student Body President. She graduated magna cum laude in May of 2008 with a degree in psychology and is now making plans to attend graduate school to study counseling.
