From the heart of Africa to the highest Himalayas to Terra Incognita itself, Overmyer’s outrageous, “modern” comedy, On the Verge, plunges his audience into the chimerical adventure of three intrepid Victorian lady explorers who have embarked upon a most unusual journey.

Equipped with dialogue as pithy as their helmets, these “sister sojourners” discover more than just the secrets of the rainforest or the dangers of the craggy heights. Their mirthful safari unexpectedly spins them into a kaleidoscopic, mind-bending jaunt from the 19th century into the 20th, encountering along the way hundreds of artifacts from the not-so-distant future. Overmyers’ hilarious multi-media continuum of space, time, history, geography, feminism, fashion, and pop-culture rounds off TNU’s theatre season with a roar.
