More than 30 women clergy and women exploring a call to ministry gathered for three days of worship, encouragement, and enrichment. Jossie Owens, keynote speaker for the conference and district superintendent of the New England District of the Church of the Nazarene, challenged participants to receive the call that God has placed on their lives with joy and to be obedient to all that God might call them to do.
The conference gave participants the opportunity to share their joys and struggles and to remind them that they are not serving in their assignments alone and isolated. One conference participant shared, “I am proud of my church and the women with whom I serve.” Plans are already being made for the next Women in Ministry gathering in 2009.
