Emergency Alert System
Trevecca offers a free emergency alert system that will warn subscribers by phone or e-mail when the potential for a campus emergency exists. This service has the capability to send both voice and text to your cell phone.
This system will send an emergency alert message to all students and employees who have registered their phones and e-mail addresses with this service. This system is used only for Trevecca to send emergency alert messages and will not be used for any other purpose, such as general notifications, SPAM, advertising, etc.
- All Trevecca campus extensions (including offices, dorms, apartments, etc.) and Trevecca-owned cell phones are automatically subscribed to this service each year.
- All active Trevecca e-mail addresses assigned to employees and students (Office 365 accounts) will also be notified in the event of an emergency.
Personal Phones/Home Phones
The University strongly recommends that all members of Trevecca University sign up their personal cell/home phone and non-Trevecca e-mail addresses for this service.
Phones with Synchronized Email
Those who use a Smart Phone and have their personal email account synchronized to that phone are encouraged to sign up that email account.
Signing Up Is Easy
Emergency Siren System
Trevecca Nazarene University has completed installation of emergency notification sirens on campus. In the event of an emergency situation on campus, the sirens will be initiated by security personnel.
What the emergency sirens mean and how they sound
In case of severe weather, such as a tornado warning, the Severe Weather ring tone will sound. A tornado warning means that a tornado has been spotted on the ground in Trevecca's area. Seek shelter immediately. If possible, go to the lowest level of the building you are in or seek shelter in an inner hallway, classroom, or closet. Remain there until the all clear ring tone is sounded.
In case of criminal activity on campus that threatens the safety of community members, the Lockdown ring tone will sound. Lock yourself in a building or room and remain there until the all clear ring tone is sounded.
The All Clear ring tone will signal an end to the emergency. You may resume normal activity.
The Test ring tone will be used to periodically test the emergency notification siren system. Notification to the campus will be provided in advance of any test of the system.
