Composition

Courses in traditional and aural theory, orchestration, music history and private applied lessons help composition minors learn to write for various combinations of instruments and voices.

As part of this minor, composers learn to write for various combinations of instruments and voices, and their works are performed through the annual TNU Student Composers' Forum, New Music Ensemble, and group and individual research projects.

Student composers meet in a weekly seminar to discuss and present works in progress, explore composition topics and study works by other composers.
