The Bachelor of Music in music performance is designed to help you expand your talents and find success in the music industry. Students will receive broad training in the theory, history and performance of music. Graduates have performed in professional symphonies, operas, orchestras, commercial recording studios and various live performance venues.

What to Expect

As a student in Trevecca’s Bachelor of Music in music performance program, you can turn your passion for music into a degree when you put a solid educational foundation under your existing talents. You’ll learn about the history, theory and performance of music. In addition, you’ll be able to tailor your degree to match your interests and goals when you choose to focus on one or more of the following elective areas:

  • Music therapy 
  • Musical theatre 
  • Composition
  • Worship leading

You’ll learn from faculty with professional experience in a variety of roles in the music industry. Comprised of talented instrumentalists, vocalists, songwriters and industry experts, our music faculty knows how to create a successful career in today’s music industry, and they’ll share that wisdom and experience with you. Our professors focus on helping you develop your talents while also teaching you how to build healthy foundations and habits which set you up for a career with longevity. 

You’ll work with your professors both in group and individual sessions, creating mentoring relationships that lead to professional networking contacts and exciting opportunities both while you are a student and long after graduation. As a result of the incredible connections our faculty have with the music industry, our past students have sung and played with A-list commercial artists on TV, in the studio and on the live stage. Trevecca is approximately one mile from downtown Nashville, so you’ll be able to take advantage of the unique and exciting opportunities that come from studying music in an industry hub.

Our music performance graduates have been successful in a number of careers. They have performed in professional symphonies, operas, orchestras, commercial recording studios, and various live performance venues. They have also established private studios, worked as staff composers, moved on to pursue graduate degrees and worked as volunteers or paid staff in churches across the country.
