The demand for Physical Education teachers is rapidly growing as schools and parents become more concerned with the physical health of young children. If you are passionate about educating others about healthy living and recreation, a degree in Physical Education may be right for you!

The Physical Education program is designed to prepare students for a teaching career in grades K through twelve. This program is a collaborative effort between the exercise and sports science department and the School of Education. The School of Education collaborates with area schools to provide students observation and teaching experiences to enhance their learning. Students' education experience will culminate in student teaching or enrolling in the fifth year master’s program for a year-long internship.

What our students say

"The education department at Trevecca has some of the best teachers I have ever had the privilege of learning from. Teaching is a complex profession to go into, and it can be very challenging and demanding. I was very blessed to be a part of the physical education program at Trevecca. I had the best professors helping me and molding me into the educator that I am today. I just started my first teaching job and I feel well prepared and ready for the school year because my professors at Trevecca helped me get to this point. I still to this day talk with a few of my professors and they help mentor me and push me to be the best I can be."
