"It was a week of self-discovery and transformation with one another. It was a week of fellowship and never-ending conversation. It was a week of being neighbors to and with each other."
Six8 is a summer intensive for young people held in the heart of Nashville on the campus of Trevecca. Six8 is designed for students who are passionate about theological exploration, serving others, and healing injustice. The intensive is centered around the question: “How do we love our neighbor?”
Students have the opportunity to dig deeper into their purpose, faith, and calling. They’ll build community with scholars, mentors, and students who are passionate about the call of Micah 6:8—to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God. Throughout the week, we hope students come to know their own gifts and understand their capability to be agents of change in the world around them.
After the summer intensive, students stay connected with their small groups and mentors for the next year as they follow their calling and seek justice in their own communities. We hope students will leave empowered to share their story about how God is working in their own lives and the world around them. The next intensive is July 7–14, 2018. The total cost for that week is $100.
Six8 2018 will be focused on how loving our neighbor and caring for the earth are one in the same. This year, we will use the lens of environmental justice to look at social issues including poverty, human trafficking, displacement, and homelessness. Participants will be reflecting on social issues and engagement on both a neighborhood and global level. We hope to see you there!
