Trevecca will be hosting three specific events October 24 and 25 to raise awareness about immigration among our student body, staff, faculty, as well as our neighbors and friends. These events each have a particular focus beginning with a film screening Monday night. After the film, a Trevecca student, Tabitha Sookdeo, who is also an undocumented immigrant, will be sharing her story. There will also be a panel discussion to follow led by Joel Tooley. On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Joel Tooley and Tabitha Sookdeo will be leading our morning chapel service which will be focused on the church's response to immigrants and refugees. Sandra McCracken’s prolific contributions as a songwriter, modern-day hymn writer, and record producer have brought grace and clarity to her soulful, folk-gospel sound. Whether in a theater or in a chapel, she is a dynamic performer who blurs the lines of what church music sounds like, captivating and inviting audiences to sing along. While many of her songs like “We Will Feast In The House Of Zion” and “Thy Mercy My God” have settled into regular rotation in Christian worship services internationally, she has also had songs recorded by All Sons And Daughters, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, Audrey Assad, A Rocha Compilation, Bifrost Arts, Caedmon’s Call and others. She is further a founding member of Indelible Grace Music and Rain For Roots (children’s music) and has been a guest writer for Art House America, She Reads Truth, The Gospel Coalition, Christianity Today, RELEVANT Magazine and more.

Rev. Kevin Twit is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and Covenant Theological Seminary. He worked in the music industry for several years both as a guitarist and recording engineer. He served as a pastor at Christ Community Church for eight years and has been the RUF Campus Minister at Belmont University since 1995. In 1999, Kevin began Indelible Grace Music with a group of his students. Indelible Grace has been at the heart of the movement to reset old hymn texts to new music. They have recorded nine CDs as well as a documentary film, “Roots And Wings: The Story Of Indelible Grace And The RUF Hymns.” Kevin is married to Wendy and they have three children, including a daughter they adopted from China in 2005. Kevin is also an adjunct professor at Covenant Seminary and Belmont University teaching classes in hymnody and has lectured widely on topics of hymns and worship. He enjoys composing hymn tunes, disc golf, and German board games.

Rev. Jared Callahan is a fun, kind, loud, storytelling, redhead. He studied Media Communication at Point Loma and got a Master's degree in Spiritual Formation from NNU. Jared worked in youth ministry for 14 years, and now travels speaking at churches, camps, and retreats. Jared has also worked, mentored, taught, crewed, written, and directed over 60 short films and 4 feature films which have won awards all over the world. In 2016, Jared released his directorial debut feature documentary, Janey Makes a Play, which played at over 20 festivals. He was recently chosen to be one of the Atlanta Film Society’s Filmmakers in Residence and currently has three shorts and three feature documentaries in production.

Dr. Dan Boone became the eleventh president of Trevecca Nazarene University in 2005 having served in pastoral ministry for more than 30 years. A 1974 graduate of Trevecca, he earned a master’s degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1977 and a doctorate in ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1996. He began his pastoral ministry when he was in high school, and his last pastorate was at the College Church in Bourbonnais, Ill. Dr. Boone has taught on the university and seminary level and also has been an instructor for the Salvation Army. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Denise, for 40 years, and they have three married daughters and six grandkids. Dan and Denise live in Franklin, Tenn.
