Eric is chair of the Department of Music and teaches theory and composition coursework. A native of Anderson, Indiana, he earned his music degrees at Ball State University while working as a full-time professional firefighter for the City of Muncie, Indiana. He holds Bachelor of Music, Master of Music (X2), and Doctor of Arts degrees in combinations of theory, composition and voice performance. His musical background encompasses classical and commercial genres. He is an active commissioned composer, arranger and orchestrator, with several works premiered and/or performed at Trevecca, ranging from solo and chamber pieces to large-scale works for full orchestra. Eric and wife Melissa are music ministers, writing and playing many styles of music. A tenor, he worked as a studio vocalist and clinician, with extensive experience on musical theatre and opera stages. Favorite roles include Tony in "West Side Story" and Rodolpho in "La Bohème."
