Joni Batts, Ph.D., completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Trevecca. She has served as the clinical coordinator and community liaison for the graduate counseling program since 2019. She is a licensed marriage and family therapy therapist, a registered play therapist and an AAMFT approved supervisor. Prior to her work at Trevecca, Joni worked in agency settings, school-based settings and in private practice. She continues to see clients in private practice, working primarily with children and adolescents utilizing play therapy modalities. Her teaching specialties are child and adolescent techniques, child in the family system and attachment. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Joni continues to serve as the clinical coordinator for practicum and internship experiences at Trevecca. In her personal life, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and their giant English mastiff named Molly.
