Prior to being an assistant professor and director of developmental mathematics at Trevecca, Nicholas was an assistant professor at Seattle Pacific University. Previously a middle and high school mathematics and French teacher at Christian Academy of Knoxville in east Tennessee, he earned accolades like the Tennessee Lottery Educator of the Month and CityView magazine Best High School Teacher award. As the director of developmental mathematics, Nicholas also enjoys mentoring and training math tutors, teaching assistants and mathematics education students. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics Education, a Masters of Science in mathematics, a Masters of Science in teacher education, a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in honors French from the University of Tennessee. He also has an Education Specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from Tennessee Technological University. A former Fulbright grantee in Paris, Nicholas enjoys traveling, conversing in French and experiencing other cultures.
