Trevecca Nazarene University’s School of Music and Worship Arts (SOMWA) is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly capable graduate assistant who can assist the Music and Worship office in meeting financial, department specific academic accreditation, assessment objectives, and building/equipment management. This position is responsible to the Admin. Assistant to the Associate Provost and Coordinator of Centers for Music Engagement. This is a part-time position, which excludes benefits.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Trevecca graduate student, enrolled for the 2022-23 Academic Year.

Position Duties

  • Finance Coordinator
    • Input and analyze financial data for SOMWA.
    • Assist with streamlining and increasing efficiency of the office’s financial operations.
  • Academic Communication and Support
    • Assist with fulfilling SACSCOC accreditation requirements (e.g., written reports).
    • Create and/or compile reports for department heads.
    • Help compile data for National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
    • Administer/oversee signing of SOMWA Adjunct Contracts (beginning of each semester)
    • Work with Associate provost to confirm Adjunct Teaching Schedules and Job Description Communication
  • Building & Equipment Management
    • Room scheduling/posting each semester.
    • Piano Inventory/Maintenance Schedule/Hygrometer (rotation/log).
    • Care and Maintenance of Bosendorfer Piano (Wakefield).
    • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Preferred Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn data analysis/survey software.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience with and an understanding of basic research practices.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Adaptable and flexible; problem-solver.

Terms of Employment and Expectations

  • Maintain effective and efficient communication with the Admin Assistant, Associate Provost for School of Music and Worship Arts and TNU finance office.
  • Maintain a consistent 20-hour weekly work schedule. Time off and schedule adjustments require advanced approval. Estimated schedule will fall within an 8am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday work week.

  • Compensation:
    • On-campus housing provided (if applicable)
    • Tuition remission (excluding Physician Assistant and Graduate Counseling programs)
    • $1,000 monthly stipend
  • Start date: as soon as possible
