Position Description

The School of STEM at Trevecca Nazarene University invites applicants for a full-time Lab Manager position beginning Fall 2022. The Lab Manager will provide support throughout the School of STEM with a primary focus on the Department of Science, Engineering and Math SEM).

Responsibilities will include:
•    Coordination of lab set-up and tear down for chemistry and biology labs
•    Supervision of student workers in SEM
•    Assistance with lab instruction for select SEM laboratories
•    Ensuring SEM labs are clean, organized, and maintained
•    Performing minor routine maintenance of equipment
•    Maintaining the chemical inventory list and safety data sheet library
•    Coordination of chemical waste disposal
•    Coordination of make-up labs in SEM
•    Assisting in grading lab reports in SEM
•    Assisting the Department Chairs and the Dean of the School as needed

A Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is preferred, but candidates with a bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience will also be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with students and faculty, strong organizational skills, enjoyment of lab work, and a strong commitment to the ideals and mission of the university.
