Susan Ragsdale ’91 has co-authored a new book with Ann Saylor. Groups, Troops, Clubs, and Classrooms: The Essential Handbook for Working with Youth provides basic information to help anyone who works with young people. This book explains the minds of young people work, ways to make classrooms and meeting spaces appealing, and ways to forge meaningful relationships with young people, and it also provides activities for leaders to use with young people.
Ragsdale and Saylor are youth development experts, and this book is their seventh to co-author. They had a book-signing at Parnassus Books in Green Hills on October 4.
Ragsdale is the director of the YMCA Center for Asset Development in Nashville. In this capacity she directs the on-going activities at the Center; she joined the staff of the YMCA in 1992.
Ragsdale will be the featured author for Waggoner Library’s next Author Talk on the Hill, on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 4:30 PM. Everyone is invited to attend this event in the Waggoner rotunda.
