Trevecca Giving Day set for April 16

Trevecca Nazarene University’s very first Giving Day is set for April 16, 2020. The 24-hour campaign offers the entire Trevecca community a chance to invest in the work of the University and the lives of its students.

“This day is about involving and engaging our alumni, students and friends in the mission of the University,” said Peg Cooning, vice president for external relations. “By working together, we can have a large and lasting impact on the future of our university.”

Cooning hopes Trevecca Giving Day 2019 will encourage the entire Trevecca community—current students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University—to “Give to the Hill.”

“This one-day event is a way for all members of the Trevecca community to demonstrate their belief in Trevecca,” she said. “It’s a tangible vote of confidence in the University and a way to honor our heritage. We hope our alumni and friends will ask themselves how Trevecca has made a difference in their lives. Then, they can use this Giving Day as a way to pay their gratitude forward to impact the lives of our current students.”

Gifts made during Trevecca Giving Day will support various programs, schools and areas of the University, from athletics to scientific research. Cooning anticipates that challenge funds will encourage friendly competition among schools, programs, classes and other areas of the University—all while helping ensure that Trevecca students continue to receive a top-notch academic experience.

Donors can visit to make donations to any school, program or area of the University they wish. Alumni and friends of the University will also be invited to become advocates for Trevecca Giving Day, using resources provided by a toolkit that will be featured at the link in coming days.

Additionally, donors can follow Trevecca on Facebook and Twitter to view updates on fundraising totals and competitions. Donors are also encouraged to share their excitement about the day on social media using the #GiveToTheHill hashtag.
