Trevecca has been named among the best of the best military-friendly schools by U.S. Veterans Magazine (USVM).
“It is such a privilege to serve the educational needs of our active duty and veterans,” said Dr. Tim Eades, associate provost and vice president for graduate and continuing studies. “We want all those who’ve served our great country to look at Trevecca as their partner in providing undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees. Our programs take place one night a week or fully online in relevant areas such as business administration, computer information, education, healthcare, psychology, management, leadership, and ministry.”
The honor reflects the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies’ (SGCS) concerted efforts over the past few years to meet the educational needs of veterans and their families. The University fully participates in the Post-9/11 GI Bill, TA options and the Yellow Ribbon Program.
Trevecca also offers a military scholarship available to non-traditional online, degree completion and graduate students and their spouses and children as well as offering credit for military training.
To select the top colleges and universities, U.S. Veteran’s Magazine considered market research, conference participation and survey responses submitted by participating institutions. More than 350 companies and institutions participated this year.
Dr. Lewis Bridges, who serves as an outreach recruiter and military liaison, leads much of that work. In addition to his work at Trevecca, he also currently serves as the president of the MidSouth Academic Advisory Council on Military Education.
U.S. Veteran’s Magazine released the results of the evaluation on May 15. The list will be published in the summer issue of the magazine, available on newsstands mid-August.
The accolade isn’t the only military-friendly designation Trevecca has received in the past few months. The University was once again named one of Victory Media’s 2018-2019 Military Friendly Schools, a distinction Trevecca has held for the past three years.
More than 1,400 colleges and universities participated in Victory Media’s 2018-2019 survey, with 941 schools earning the designation.
