For the seventh consecutive season, Trevecca Nazarene University will sponsor the Nashville Sounds’ Faith and Family Nights. Five events are scheduled throughout the Sounds’ 2018 season, with the first just one month away on April 13. Faith and Family Nights are something the University looks forward to each year, according to Matt Toy, associate vice president of marketing and communications.
"Trevecca's partnership with the Nashville Sounds has become a summer staple," Toy said. "It is great to combine so many things we love in the summer like baseball, music, and a fun Christian community. We are grateful to partner with the Sounds and also WAY-FM to make these Faith Nights happen."
Each Faith and Family night will feature a pregame concert, testimonies from current Sounds players and more. You’re also likely to see a few familiar Trevecca faces taking part—from throwing out the first pitch, singing the national anthem and more.
Featuring weekend and weekday games, this year’s lineup includes Stars Go Dim on April 13; Unspoken on May 21; Long Hollow Wave and Caitie Hurst on June 11; and Carrollton Band on July 22. The final Faith and Family night of the season is set for August 31 with Trevecca PR band Awaken opening for David Dunn.
In addition, the University will also sponsor the Sounds’ Junior Announcer program. During each game, a child from the crowd will be selected to announce the Sounds’ batters in the bottom of the third inning. He or she will sit with the game day PA announcer in the stadium control room, located in the press box.
Trevecca has sponsored Sounds Faith and Family Nights since 2012. The Nashville Sounds are the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics.
