Trevecca to host town hall event ahead of Aug. 1 election

Trevecca Nazarene University is set to host a July 16 town hall event featuring the leading candidates in Nashville’s mayoral race.

The WZTV Fox 17 event will be one of the last chances voters will get to hear from the candidates before the Aug. 1 election. All of the candidates in mayoral race have confirmed their participation, including incumbent and current mayor, David Briley; council member Jim Cooper; state Rep. John Ray Clemmons and retired Vanderbilt professor Carol Swain.

The town hall will take place at 6 p.m. in Trevecca’s Zelma Waggoner Performance Hall, located in the Jackson Center for Music and Worship Arts. It will air live on Fox 17 from 6-7 p.m. and be streamed on the station’s Facebook page.

The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
