ACT Prep Workshops | Fall 2017

All workshops will take place at the Center for Leadership, Calling and Service (CLCS), located in the Bud Robinson Building. Click here to view our campus map.

Saturday, September 30, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. – CLCS Classroom 120 (lower level)

We will hold a general workshop that covers all four content areas, giving strategies about how to prepare for tests, how to take standardized tests (the ACT, in particular), and how to overcome test anxiety. The workshop will include a mini-mock test in each area with a chance to score it and go over problem areas. (maximum of 30 participants)

Saturday, October 21, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. – CLCS Classroom (lower level)

We will focus on the ACT English and reading areas. We will provide mini-lessons in each of the two areas, including handouts of the concepts being reviewed and a list of effective websites for further study.  (maximum of 30 participants)

Saturday, November 18, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. – CLCS Classroom 120 (lower level)

We will focus on the ACT math and science areas. We will provide mini-lessons in each of the two areas, including handouts of the concepts being reviewed and a list of effective websites for further study. (maximum of 30 participants)

Tuesday, November 28, 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. – CLCS Computer Lab (upper level)

We will simulate the ACT testing environment by administering a full mock test. Once participants have taken the mock test, we will score the answer sheets, fill out an analysis sheet for each participant, and scan the results to him or her.  It will be up to the participants to study their analysis sheets so that they understand their strengths and weaknesses, according to the results from the mock test. (maximum of 20 participants)
