Biography

Originally from Batavia, Illinois, Scot Corey is a freelance drummer/percussionist who has performed as an ‘extra’ with the Nashville Symphony for over 16 years; is currently serving as Principal Percussionist with Nashville Opera, principal timpanist in the Parthenon Chamber Orchestra, and as the staff drummer at Green Hill Church in Mt. Juliet, Tenn. His schedule is filled with live/studio work ranging from orchestral to Broadway musicals to video game soundtracks to praise & worship drumming to the Coral Bay Steel Drum Band. He has served as adjunct percussion faculty at Trevecca Nazarene University since 2000 and is a founding member of the Matrix Percussion Trio. Teaching was not Scot’s initial pursuit – but The Calling became clear, as he pursued an active performance career. It is his active performing schedule that helps to focus the direction of the education in the classroom. Scot and his wife, Heidi, are raising their three children in Brentwood, Tenn.
