Trevecca Nazarene University is a Christian community providing education for leadership and service.
The Department of Communication Studies invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in Visual Effects and Special Effects beginning January 2020.
Classes may include digital storytelling through visual effects and special effects such as moving text and motion graphics, green screen, compositing, rotoscoping, and animation.
The Department of Communication Studies currently has over 90 students enrolled in eight majors: Communication Studies, Dramatic Arts, Interpersonal Communication, Multimedia Journalism, Media Arts and Studies , Organizational Communication, Speech Communication Education and Theatre Education. There are 5 full-time faculty member positions in the Department and 5 part-time faculty members.
In addition to experience in film and television, ideal candidates will possess an MA, MFA, or higher in film, television, digital storytelling, visual effects/motion graphics, mass media or a related communication field. Candidates must be strong storytellers with a passion for teaching young filmmakers. Particular skills in visual and special effects for film and television required.
Experience and technical expertise in the following areas is also required: Adobe After Effects Software, Adobe Premiere Pro Editing Software, professional film/video cameras, professional lighting, green screen, and other animation/visual effects software.
A demonstrated passion for working with undergraduates in Christian higher education is essential.
