Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Accreditation, the Director of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for institution-wide assessment and the tracking and support for regional accreditation reporting and documentation. The director provides direction and support for faculty and departments in the assessment of student learning, academic program review, and assessment and accreditation initiatives. Additionally, the director is responsible for survey administration, data collection and reporting on assessment, and assists university personnel in complying with the “institutional effectiveness” standards of the accreditation principles of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (doctorate preferred) in Higher Education, Education, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in higher education institutions.
  • Experience with assessment and accreditation compliance for regional and/or program accreditation (preferably with SACSCOC).
  • Experience as a faculty member involved with the assessment and reporting of student learning outcomes, and/or leading faculty/departments in the process, is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct the comprehensive assessment processes that systematically evaluate institutional effectiveness.
  • Coordinate the assessment and reporting of student learning outcomes at the program level by engaging departments/faculty in the regular assessment of outcomes.
  • Provide data for and coordinate the academic program review process.
  • Coordinate academic reporting processes with school deans, department chairs, program directors, and the university provost.
  • Assist the VP for Academic Affairs and Accreditation with SACSCOC report compilation, writing, documentation, and editing.
  • Coordinate the regular collection, reporting, and dissemination of all campus-wide surveys and evaluations, including: morale, student engagement, student experience, alumni, end-of-program, senior exit, and the university’s course/instructor evaluation system.
  • Compile/disseminate assessment survey results and lead the institution in the analysis and synthesis of results into further institutional effectiveness.
  • Administer course evaluations for traditional, non-traditional, and graduate programs.
  • Collaborate with department and program faculty to gather post-graduation student outcome data.
  • Assist the VP for Academic Affairs and Accreditation with systematic updates and revisions of the Faculty Handbook.
  • Monitor Student Achievement objectives and measures, and update the University website per SACSCOC standards requirements.
  • Serve as the website administrator for the IRB submission process, helping students and faculty to troubleshoot issues.
  • Collect and store minutes from all committees and academic units.
  • Make an annual written report to the associate provost.
  • Serve as a member of the Central Data Committee, Academic Council, Graduate and Non-Traditional Programs Council, QEP Development Committee, and Liberal Arts Committee.
  • Collaborate with the Liberal Arts Committee in conducting traditional general education assessment.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the university provost and/or the VP for Academic Affairs and Accreditation.

Terms of Employment

Full-time 12-month position: salary and fringe benefits to be established by the University.
