This 100 percent online master’s degree is based on best-practice standards from both the National Board for Professional Teaching and the International Society for Technology in Education. Additionally, curriculum was created with the help of leading Tennessee school districts, universities and professionals at the forefront of digital literacy initiatives.

Trevecca has been a leader in developing online degrees for university students for the past decade. Now this new and exciting program will prepare educators to do the same for elementary, middle and high school students. The curriculum emphasizes online instructional strategies, inquiry-based learning and organizational skills. It also focuses on the integration of technology as it relates to instructional improvement, student achievement data, research, technology plans and community relations. The valuable skills obtained in this degree prepare educators to serve their own students more effectively as the need for remote learning continues to rise.

Throughout the program, you’ll master these key concepts:

The degree is 100 percent online, with books and materials delivered to your front door. You’ll take one course at a time and participate in an online learning cohort with other students as you complete the program together in 15-16 months. You’ll also develop an e-portfolio that will demonstrate the expertise you’ve gained in online learning initiatives.

This program equips classroom teachers, instructional coaches, principals and deans for a variety of career opportunities associated with online learning. You’ll discover how to provide a quality online learning experience for students and facilitate professional development for faculty members. In addition, you’ll be trained to bring an understanding of the essentials of remote learning to school-age parents through workshops and communication avenues. At a district level, graduates of the program are prepared to provide instructional leaders with the tools needed to coordinate online learning for a large number of schools throughout a region.
