At Trevecca, students who want to pursue advanced education in healthcare are equipped to flourish in graduate programs, including medical school, through rigorous undergraduate studies.
Biology is at the heart of pre-health education at Trevecca. Because nearly every medical and health-professional program is built on a foundation of biological science, a biology major provides a clear and effective pathway for students preparing for medical school (M.D., D.O.), physician assistant programs, dental school, optometry or pharmacy. The biology curriculum delivers essential coursework—such as anatomy and physiology, microbiology, genetics and biochemistry—while developing analytical thinking and laboratory experience expected by professional schools.
In addition to biology, Trevecca offers an undergraduate physician assistant pathway and a Bachelor of Science in nursing, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout Nashville while preparing for advanced study or immediate entry into the workforce.
