Frequently Asked Questions
How does my student register for classes?
Trevecca pre-registers all new students for classes. Your student will finalize their class schedule when they meet with academic advisors during orientation. No preparation is required before meeting with the advisor, so just make sure your student attends the scheduled orientation activities.
Where can my student find their class schedule?
Your student can access their class schedule via Self-Service on my.trevecca.edu using their Trevecca username and password (If they forget their login info, they should contact their admissions counselor). The availability of online class schedules varies depending on your student’s specific situation. While tentative class schedules may be available as early as late July, final schedules will be posted by orientation week in August.
Can my student change their class schedule?
Yes, if your student wishes to make changes to their class schedule, they can request these changes during their academic advising meeting at orientation.
My student wants to change their major. What should they do?
Before August orientation, have your student contact their admissions counselor to request the change. Also, they can make the request during their academic advising session at orientation after check-in.
How does my student know if they need to complete placement testing?
The Admissions Office will email your student if they need to take a placement test. If your student does not receive this email, no placement test is required. The email will provide details about the available testing options.
How can I access my student’s grades?
Grades are protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This means your student must give consent for anyone—including a parent—to access their academic records. During orientation, your student will complete a FERPA form that allows them to designate who can access their records.
What should my student bring to campus?
Visit our packing guide for a complete list of what your student should bring! We recommend that students bring smaller items from home and wait until arriving in Nashville to purchase larger items like furniture. Trevecca’s campus is conveniently close to stores like Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and Walmart, which cater to college students.
How do students get involved on campus?
Your student can search for on-campus jobs and join student organizations that align with their interests. Be sure your student checks their Trevecca email often for updates on campus events and opportunities!
When can I talk to someone about my student’s progress?
If you have questions or concerns, you can reach out to the Office of Student Success. However, please note that under FERPA, only your student can request academic information from faculty. If you need help navigating campus life, the Office of Student Success is the right place to go.
If you have questions that aren’t answered above, please email admissions@trevecca.edu.
