Music Major Meeting, Placement Testing & Music Auditions
Students who are majoring in Music and Worship are required to attend a meeting at 10:00am followed by auditions/placements tests in their voice and/or instrument. Non- Music and Worship Majors are invited to audition for instrumental ensembles, and instrumental groups between 1 p.m. & 3 p.m.. Sign-up sheets will be posted in the lobby of the Jackson building for both majors and non-majors.

Commuter students are required to complete the check-in process with the Office of Admissions, Wednesday, August 24th from 1:00-4:45pm.

Families of Wednesday Arrivals and Commuter Students are invited to reflect on the upcoming journey of their students and their transition as a family. It’s a time of celebration and prayer for what God will do in the students’ lives and to provide a time of comfort for the parents/guardians, as their students take this next step. If preferred, materials will be provided in the lobby of Benson Auditorium for families to engage in a self-guided prayer time. This is the last scheduled session for Parents and Families. Attendance not required.

Welcome to Trevecca! Link Group Phase 1

Join us for the kick-off to August Orientation as new students meet their entire Link group in person for the first time. Link groups are our New Student Orientation groups and are available for both Freshmen and Transfers. These groups represent the start of building community at Trevecca.

*Transfer students with fewer than 24 transfer credit hours are required to participate in a freshmen LINK group.
Transfers with more than 24 transfer hours will participate in the Transfer LINK led by Transfer Peer Mentors.

After hearing a message from the University Provost, new students will have the opportunity to meet with Academic Advisors regarding their course schedules.

This is Who We Are…

Presented by the Center for Student Development, this session will provide helpful insights to life at TNU, including introducing the Community Guidelines for all students and highlighting special resources. This session will include an introduction of the Associated Student Body by the Student Government Association. Finally, session will also provide education and information on the services and resources Trevecca provides to the campus community as part of compliance with Federal Title IX regulations.

This orientation event will contain information about Career Services at Trevecca as well as a continuation of the morning’s Link group time. Link groups to participate in a variety of orientation activities including completion of the College Student Inventory, Technology 101 and campus tours.

Transfer LINK Session

Transfers are welcomed to the hill. Trevecca personnel are thrilled that they have chosen to finish their education here at Trevecca Nazarene University. We understand that transfer students have unique questions and concerns as they get acclimated to a new community. This time is designed to meet those needs. Students will receive advice from prior transfers to begin their Trevecca journey. A technology 101 session for transfer students will also be presented during this time.

City LINK Service Day—Attendance is required for all new students enrolled in the Life Calling and Purpose class (INT 1100 LINK). Transfers are not required to attend but invited and encouraged to participate

All new student LINK groups will gather in the Boone Convocation Center for opening remarks before being dismissed to their individual service sites.

Trevecca Field Day—Attendance is required for all new students enrolled in the Life Calling and Purpose class (LINK). Transfers are not required to attend but invited and encouraged to participate. Students should wear comfortable clothes and shoes (tennis shoes) for outdoor activities.

Bell Tower Walk / All-Campus Praise and Worship Service
Boone Convocation Center

This service will be the first opportunity to gather as a community to share in a time of worship. Returning Trevecca students will join new students in a student-led worship and music service. This event marks the beginning of Trevecca’s Weeks of Welcome! Please see Peer Mentors for gathering spot for Bell Tower Walk.

Before classes begin tomorrow, students should make sure you have taken care of or completed the following items:

  • Class schedule changes/registration - registration is complete and course changes discussed with Advisor?
  • Student ID cards - picked up Student ID (Top floor of Bud Robinson Building)?
  • International Students - final check-in with Global Engagement Office complete (ground floor of the Bud Robinson Building)?
  • Technology Questions? Please visit the Helpdesk (Waggoner Library).
  • Registered online for parking permit?

First Generation Mentor Program Welcome Party and Backyard BBQ

First generation students—meet your mentor and other FG students in your mentor group, test yourselves on a scavenger hunt around campus (and win prizes!), and enjoy some of Nashville’s finest BBQ.

4 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Commuter Life Session—Attendance is required for all new Commuting Students
Boone Convocation Center, Boone Business Building

Commuting students will share in a meal and receive valuable information about life at Trevecca. Students will have an opportunity to ask questions in a smaller group setting.

5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

TNU Block Party!
Hart Street, Quad

Come join the block party to welcome all students, celebrate the grand opening of Jernigan Student Center, and wish Dr. Boone a Happy Birthday! (Dinner served for ALL students regardless of meal plan)
