English (minor)

This 15-hour minor prepares you to enter any of the numerous fields that prize creativity, critical thinking, writing acumen and the ability to create and communicate convincing arguments.

Courses in the English minor include Gothic Literature; Multi-Ethnic American Literature; Life, Death and Marriage in Eastern Literature; and others. Students who wish to substitute different Trevecca literature courses in the completion of the English minor are encouraged to speak to the department chairperson.

Beyond building a strong foundation in English, you’ll tailor your coursework to match your interests and goals by choosing from concentrations in literature or creative writing.

  • Creative Writing (A.A.)

    The Associate of Arts in creative writing is a two-year degree program that builds on students’ love for literature and writing by preparing them for a variety of writing-based careers. The program offers courses in poetry, fiction writing and creative nonfiction, as well as opportunities for students to workshop their writing in small groups and gain editing experience on a quarterly, national magazine.
