Amanda serves as the director of clinical education for Trevecca's physician assistant (PA) program. A native of Franklin, Tennessee, she earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Savannah, Georgia, before returning home to the Nashville area to begin her clinical career.
Amanda brings more than 20 years of neurosurgical experience spanning both private practice and academic medicine, including service as a faculty member at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She remains actively engaged in clinical practice, operating one day each week alongside the neurosurgeon with whom she has collaborated throughout her career. In recognition of their longstanding partnership and commitment to team-based patient care, Amanda and her physician colleague received the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants' MD/PA Team of the Year Award in 2019. She has also contributed to the advancement of the physician assistant profession through scholarship, authoring three peer-reviewed publications, including research examining the implementation and outcomes of opioid-free spine surgery.
Amanda transitioned into physician assistant education in 2024, bringing extensive experience in clinical practice, scholarship and professional leadership. Drawing on decades of neurosurgical expertise, research experience and strong professional relationships across the region, Amanda is committed to preparing students for successful careers as compassionate, skilled, patient-centered healthcare providers.
