Jeffrey Phillips has earned degrees from MTSU, WKU, APSU and CCU, as well as a diploma and Fellowship in Trombone Performance (FRSM) from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
Jeffrey retired from secondary school teaching after 34 years, including 29 years as director of bands at Hendersonville High School. He also taught at Pope John Paul II High School and Western Kentucky University. Jeffrey has taught at Belmont University for 21 years and at Trevecca for four years as adjunct professor of low brass.
Jeffrey has served as president of the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association, Tennessee Music Education Association and American School Band Directors Association. He continues to perform as a Jupiter XO trombone performing artist and educational clinician. He is the principal trombonist for the Nashville Praise Symphony and leads his own big band, The New Serenaders.
Jeffrey is also the pastor at Saundersville United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
