Jonathan serves as a professor of leadership studies and research in Trevecca’s School of Leadership and Interdisciplinary Studies. His 26 years of experience in higher education includes a role as chair/program director for the Center for Accelerated and Professional Education at MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU), which he held from 2015 to 2023.
He earned a B.A. in history and pre-law from MNU, an M.A. in American history and world history from Emporia State University, an MBA from MNU and an Ed.D. in organizational leadership from National University.
A lifelong learner, Jonathan is passionate about research and writing, having explored a wide range of topics in business, education and history. His scholarly contributions include numerous committee appointments, national presentations and published works. His doctoral dissertation, “Exploring Blended Learning: A Case Study of Adult Learners Using a Learning Management System in Face-to-Face Classes,” reflects his commitment to advancing educational practices. Above all, he is an educator at heart, dedicated to helping students achieve their goals. He draws inspiration from the writings of C.S. Lewis, particularly “Mere Christianity,” “The Screwtape Letters” and “The Abolition of Man.”
He is a proud father to his 22-year-old son, Kaden, his 6-year-old, Ashton, and his 8-year-old furball, Coco. Originally from Olathe, Kansas, he and his family are enthusiastic supporters of the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks.
