Dr. Smith teaches economics in undergraduate and master's courses at TNU and advises undergraduate international business students. He earned his Ph.D. in economics and MBA from MTSU and his undergraduate degree from Trevecca. His research focuses on Industrial Organizational and Health Economics. He has presented at the Southern Economic Association and at university seminars. He previously worked in the healthcare industry for HealthStream, Inc. and HCA IT&S.
