Mark is a lifetime educator with a background in public education, church ministry, and higher education. After 19 years of working as a teacher and administrator, he spent seven years as director of education and youth programs in southeast Missouri before moving to Columbia, Mo., to pursue a doctorate in educational leadership. During that time, he worked at Columbia College, starting in the admissions department (supervising admissions counselors) before moving to the Department of Student Affairs as the director of the TRiO student support services program. He completed his doctorate in the summer of 2020, which coincided with being selected as the director of academic services in the Center for Student Development at Trevecca. He describes being hired in his current position as one of the most profound blessings of his life, giving him the opportunity on a daily basis to employ his skills, work experiences and spiritual passions.
