As senior vice president, university provost and chief of staff at Trevecca, Tom provides leadership across academic affairs, enrollment, marketing, student development and graduate and adult education. With more than 25 years of experience in higher education, he also serves as a professor of leadership studies, and is committed to advancing Trevecca’s Christ-centered mission through academic excellence, student formation and success, and faithful institutional leadership.
Tom joined Trevecca in 2008 and has served in progressively responsible leadership roles across academic and student affairs, including associate provost and dean of academic and student affairs, before being named provost in 2019. During his tenure, he has helped lead significant institutional growth, including record enrollment and retention, the creation of more than 25 new academic programs, expansion in nursing and health sciences, and the development of strategic partnerships across Nashville and the region. His work has also included academic and organizational restructuring, accreditation, student success and institutional planning.
Tom’s leadership is rooted in his Christian faith and a commitment to preparing students for lives of leadership and service while strengthening Trevecca’s mission for future generations. He and his wife Jessica have two children, Marley and Asher.
