Chi Sigma Iota, International

Chi Sigma Iota is the international honor society of professional counseling. It was established in 1985 through the efforts of leaders in the profession of counseling whose desire was to provide recognition for outstanding achievement as well as outstanding service within the profession. CSI was created for counselors-in-training, counselor educators, and professional counselors whose career commitment is to provide research and service through professional counseling.

Our mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.

Theta Nu Upsilon Chapter at Trevecca Nazarene University

The Theta Nu Upsilon Chapter was established at Trevecca Nazarene University on December 9, 2011. The chapter’s first new member induction ceremony was at the Graduate Counseling Commissioning Service on May 3rd, 2012.

The Theta Nu Upsilon Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota focuses on promoting excellence in the profession of counseling and seeks to provide members with opportunities for involvement in professional development, community engagement, wellness, and more.

The Chapter faculty advisor is Dr. Aimee Isenberg.

Who is eligible to join Chi Sigma Iota?

Membership in Chi Sigma Iota, as specified in the Bylaws, is open to both students and graduates of counselor education programs. Students must have completed at least one semester of full-time graduate coursework in a counseling program, have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 system, and be recommended for membership in CSI by the chapter. Faculty recommendations of students are strongly taken into consideration.

Faculty, alumni, and professional members shall have met the overall G.P.A. requirement as graduates of a counseling program and be recommended to CSI by the chapter. The primary identity of these persons shall be as professional counselors including evidence of a state or national credential as a professional counselor.

individuals who meet membership criteria will be personally invited to place membership in the Theta Nu Upsilon chapter by the Chapter faculty advisors.
