Creative Writing (minor)

This 15-hour minor equips you to craft compelling creative work while mastering the technical elements of literary style, including plot, characterization, tone, dialogue and imagery. In the process, you’ll strengthen your ability to communicate effectively across diverse contexts.

Courses center around student-focused workshops, where you’ll draft and revise original work within peer groups and be encouraged and challenged to take creative risks and strengthen your writing.

Trevecca creative writing students have gone on to careers in publishing, editing, nonprofit administration, marketing and beyond. Many have also built successful freelance writing careers, earned admission to graduate and professional programs, or pursued teaching in public and preparatory schools.
