Michael Craig Gibbs received his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. His research interests focus on how the wilderness evolved as both setting and symbol in the modernist and postmodern periods of American literature. A native of Augusta, Georgia, he now makes his home in Spring Hill, where he enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
